The VinFast VF7 has achieved a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating, reinforcing the brand’s focus on safety for its India-bound electric SUV lineup. The rating applies to all five VF7 variants on sale and covers both adult and child occupant protection.

VF7 SIDE IMPACT POST TEST

In Bharat NCAP testing, the VinFast VF7 scored 28.54 points out of a possible 32 for adult occupant protection. The score includes 12.54 out of 16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test, where protection to the driver’s chest was rated as weak, while shin protection for the front occupants was marked as adequate. The VF7 performed strongly in side impact tests, scoring a full 16 out of 16 in the side movable deformable barrier test, and received an ‘OK’ rating in the side pole impact test.

For child occupant protection, the VF7 recorded 45.25 points out of a maximum 49. It achieved a strong dynamic score of 23.25 out of 24 and a full 12 out of 12 for child restraint system installation, underlining its effectiveness in protecting younger occupants.

With a child occupant protection score of 45.25, the VinFast VF7 edges past key rivals such as the Tata Harrier EV and Mahindra XEV 9e by a small margin. The result aligns with VinFast’s earlier stated goal of achieving a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating for its electric SUVs.
