India’s car market is set for another busy spell, with three new models scheduled to be unveiled or launched between January 19 and January 21. The upcoming introductions include a facelifted compact SUV, a new electric SUV, and a sub-4 metre MPV, covering a wide range of buyer preferences.

Skoda Kushaq Facelift (January 19)

Skoda will unveil the facelifted Kushaq on January 19. The updated model is expected to receive subtle exterior revisions, including changes to the grille, lighting elements, bumpers, and alloy wheel designs, while retaining the familiar overall shape.

The biggest updates are likely to be inside the cabin, with additions such as a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera system, and Level 2 ADAS. Mechanical options are expected to remain unchanged, with the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines continuing as before.

Toyota is set to launch the Urban Cruiser EV on January 20, marking the brand’s first electric vehicle for the Indian market. The electric SUV shares its underpinnings with the Maruti e Vitara but features a distinct exterior design in line with Toyota’s global styling.

Two battery pack options are expected, with the larger unit offering a claimed driving range of up to 543 km. The Urban Cruiser EV will be positioned in the midsize SUV segment and is expected to focus on features, range, and build quality.

Nissan Gravite MPV (January 21)

Nissan will reveal the Gravite on January 21. Based on the CMF-A+ platform, the Gravite is a sub-4 metre MPV derived from the Renault Triber but differentiated through revised styling elements.

It is expected to use a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with manual and AMT gearbox options, along with the possibility of a dealer-fitted CNG variant. Pricing is likely to sit slightly above the Renault Triber.

Three distinct launches over a short span highlight the continued momentum in India’s car market as manufacturers expand their line-ups across multiple segments.
