From Prelude to ZR-V: 4 New Honda Cars Coming to India This Year
Honda is preparing a fresh product push for the Indian market as it looks to regain momentum amid rising competition. As part of its renewed focus, the Japanese carmaker plans to introduce four new models this year, ranging from mass-market updates to premium, imported offerings.
Honda Prelude

The Honda Prelude will mark the brand’s return to the compact sports coupe space in India. Positioned as a style-focused hybrid coupe, it will sit in a niche segment and is expected to be imported as a completely built unit from Japan.
Powering the Prelude is a petrol-electric hybrid system combining a 2.0-litre petrol engine with an electric motor. While performance is not expected to be its primary focus, the hybrid setup promises strong efficiency. Given its CBU status, pricing is likely to be on the higher side, potentially around Rs 75 lakh (ex-showroom).
New Honda Elevate

Honda is also expected to roll out a facelift for the Elevate in the second half of the year. The update is aimed at keeping the midsize SUV competitive as several all-new rivals enter the segment.
The Elevate facelift is likely to feature revised bumpers and grille designs, updated lighting elements, new alloy wheels, and additional features. Expected additions include a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera system, and ventilated front seats. Mechanical options are expected to remain unchanged.
New Honda City

To keep the City relevant until the arrival of the next-generation model, Honda is likely to introduce a second facelift for the popular sedan later this year. This update is expected to be subtle and focused mainly on cosmetic enhancements.
Changes could include revised exterior elements, new alloy wheel designs, fresh colour options, and minor interior updates. The existing petrol and hybrid powertrain options are expected to continue without any changes.
Honda ZR-V

At the premium end of the spectrum, Honda could introduce the ZR-V in India. Positioned below the CR-V globally, the ZR-V is a C-segment SUV and is expected to be offered exclusively with a petrol-electric hybrid powertrain in India.
The ZR-V shares its hybrid system with the Prelude and is likely to be imported as a CBU. If launched, pricing could be around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of Honda’s most premium offerings in the Indian market.
With these four launches, Honda appears set to cover a wide price and segment range in India, blending updates to existing models with the introduction of new, premium hybrid vehicles.
