Honda ZR-V Debuts in India at Rs. 47.99 Lakh; First Two CBU Batches Sold Out

Honda Cars India has launched the Honda ZR-V in the country at an introductory price of Rs. 47.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned as the brand’s new flagship SUV, the ZR-V is being imported from Japan as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). Deliveries have commenced, while Honda has confirmed that the first two production batches allocated for India have already been sold out.

Available in a single fully loaded variant, the premium SUV takes on rivals such as the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Jeep Meridian. However, its strong-hybrid powertrain sets it apart from the conventional petrol and diesel offerings in the segment.

Honda ZR-V Gets a 2.0-Litre Strong Hybrid Powertrain

Powering the Honda ZR-V is a 2.0-litre direct-injection Atkinson-cycle petrol engine paired with a dual-motor e:HEV hybrid system and an e-CVT automatic transmission. The setup produces a combined output of 184 hp and 315 Nm of torque, sending power to the front wheels.

Honda claims the SUV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, while delivering a claimed fuel efficiency of 22.8 kmpl. The e:HEV system intelligently switches between Electric Drive, Hybrid Drive, and Engine Drive modes depending on driving conditions to balance performance and efficiency.

The ZR-V measures 4,567 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, 1,621 mm in height, and has a 2,655 mm wheelbase. Exterior highlights include full-LED headlamps with sequential turn indicators, L-shaped LED daytime running lamps, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, a sporty rear spoiler, dual exhaust finishers, and four paint options: Twilight Mist Black Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Platinum White Pearl.

Premium Features, Safety and Rivals

Inside, the Honda ZR-V features an all-black premium cabin with soft-touch materials, leather upholstery, and ambient lighting. The dashboard houses a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. Other highlights include a 12-speaker Bose audio system, dual-zone climate control, wireless smartphone charging, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory, a 4-way powered front passenger seat, and a gesture-controlled powered tailgate.

On the safety front, the flagship SUV comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, eight airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, traction control, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, and ISOFIX child-seat mounts. Honda also offers a three-year unlimited-kilometre standard warranty, three years of roadside assistance, an eight-year/1,60,000 km hybrid battery warranty, and a five-year/1,00,000 km warranty for hybrid system components.

With its premium equipment list, strong-hybrid technology, and CBU positioning, the Honda ZR-V targets buyers looking for an efficient yet premium SUV in the ₹50 lakh segment. The model’s first two India-bound batches selling out even before deliveries begin indicates healthy initial demand for Honda’s latest flagship offering.
