Tripura Road Accident: Four Killed, Two Injured in Unakoti
A road accident took place on Thursday in Tripura’s Unakoti district, leaving four people dead and two others seriously injured. The accident happened in the Sidangchhara area under Kumarghat subdivision when a battery-operated auto-rickshaw collided with a 12-wheeler truck.
According to police, the accident occurred at around 11:30 am. The collision was head-on, and the impact badly damaged the auto-rickshaw.
Auto-Rickshaw Collides With Truck in Unakoti
The auto-rickshaw driver, Bhaskar Goswami, died on the spot. Three passengers also lost their lives. Two of them died while undergoing treatment at Unakoti District Hospital. All the victims were residents of different localities in the district.

Injured Shifted to Hospital, Police Start Probe
Two other passengers were seriously injured in the accident. They were first taken to Kumarghat Sub-Divisional Hospital and later referred to Unakoti District Hospital. One of the injured was later shifted to a hospital in Agartala for advanced treatment.

After the accident, the truck driver fled the spot. Police reached the area soon after the incident and started an investigation. A search operation has been launched to trace the absconding driver.
