When I heard Tata Motors launched the Nexon CNG, I knew it would be a game-changer. Tata’s always pushing boundaries, and this time they have delivered India’s first turbo-CNG car. Starting at just Rs. 8.99Lakh, it’s set to offer a great balance of power and efficiency, which is a big win for anyone looking for a budget-friendly ride with lower running costs.
Power Meets Efficiency
The Nexon CNG is powered by a 1.2L turbo petrol engine. while it delivers 118hp on petrol, the performance dials down slightly to 99bhp when running on CNG, but still packs enough punch for everyday drives. What caught my eye was Tata’s dual-cylinder CNG tech, which keeps the boot space usable- a huge plus over typical CNG cars with single cylinders.
Safety First
Tata doesn’t compromise on safety either. Just like the Nexon EV, this CNG version comes loaded with 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, and even a 360-degree camera. I felt reassured knowing that it also has advanced features like an auto fuel switch for gas leaks and a micro switch to turn off the ignition during emergencies.
Competitive Pricing
With 8 different trims from Smart(O) to the top-end Fearless+S, which costs Rs 14.59 Lakh, the Nexon CNG offers something for everyone. It’s also a solid competitor to rivals like the Maruti Brezza CNG and Hyundai Exter.
