Tata Nexon EV 45kWh Launched, Starting at Rs. 13.99 Lakhs

Tata Nexon EV is now available with a 45kWh Battery, 489km Range, and Prices from Rs. 13.99L to Rs. 17.19L.

I was pretty excited to hear that Tata Motors just rolled out a new variant of their Nexon EV, and it’s packing a bigger 45kWh battery. This upgrade pushes the EV’s range to 489km, a cool 24km more than the previous 40.5kWh model.

the best part? the new battery is available from the base Creative trim, starting at Rs.13.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). That’s Rs. 60,000 cheaper than the older 40.5kWh variant, which kicks off at the Fearless trim. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

More Range, Same Footprint

What’s impressive is that even though the battery has grown in capacity, its physical size hasn’t changed, thanks to a 15% bump in energy density. Tata Managed to keep the power output the same at 145HP and 215Nm torque, so you’re not sacrificing any performance for range.

And if you’re wondering about charging times, the new 45kWh pack goes from 10-80% in just 48 minutes – quicker than the older version. Tata expects the 5-star safety rating to carry over from the 40.5kWh model.

New Features and a Special Edition

It’s not just about the battery higher trims of the Nexon EV are now loaded with more features, including a panoramic sunroof- making it the second compact SUV in India to offer one, after the XUV300. There’s even a front trunk, or “Frunk” for extra storage. How cool is that?

And for those who love something unique, Tata Motors also launched the Red Dark Edition Available in the top Empowered+ trim, it’s priced at Rs. 17.19 lakhs. It sports glossy black paint, red accents, and all-black interiors with red stitching. It’s the premium touch that turns heads.

Tata Motors made sure there’s something for everyone, with the 30kWh, 40.5kWh, and now 45kWh variants available. I think the new battery and features make the 45kWh variant a solid upgrade for EV enthusiasts.
