Suzuki has officially launched the GSX-8R in India, priced at ₹9.25 lakhs (ex-showroom). This new middleweight sportbike is set to compete against popular models like the Kawasaki Ninja 650, Triumph Daytona 660, and Apprilla RS660.
Engine and Performance
The GSX-8R shares its 776cc parallel-twin engine with the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, but it’s been tuned for more aggressive performance. With 82 HP and 78 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and standard bi-directional quick-shifter, this bike promises a blend of power and agility. The quick-shifter ensures smooth gear changes, making it ideal for city commutes and track use.
Design and Features
The GSX-8R adopts Suzuki’s latest design language, highlighted by a vertically stacked LED headlamp and sharp body lines. riders will benefit from advanced tech like ride-by-wire throttle, multiple ride modes, traction control, and ABS, all focused on making the bike both safe and enjoyable to ride.
Brakes, Suspension, and Tyres
Braking power comes from dual 310mm front discs and a single 240 mm rear disc, ensuring quick-stopping capabilities. The Showa USD forks and rear monoshock offer preload adjustability, catering to rider preferences. The bike is equipped with Dunlop RoadSport 2 Tyres, designed for a balance of grip and durability, ideal for both daily rides and longer touring adventures.

The GSX-8R is available in three color options: Metallic Matte Sword Silver, Metalic Triton Blue, and Metallic Matte Black No.2 priced competitively, Suzuki aims to challenge its rivals by offering a feature-packed bike that balances everyday usability with spirited performance.
