JSW MG Planning 6 New SUVs And EVs For India
JSW MG Motor India is preparing to expand its product portfolio in the country with a range of new SUVs and electric vehicles. The company, which is now backed by the JSW Group, plans to focus heavily on the SUV segment as demand for high‑riding vehicles continues to grow in India.
The upcoming lineup will include a mix of full‑size off‑road SUVs, premium electric models and more affordable EVs. Here is a closer look at six upcoming MG vehicles expected to launch in India over the next couple of years.
MG Majestor

The MG Majestor will be one of the brand’s largest launches in India. This full‑size ladder‑frame SUV is expected to arrive in April 2026 with deliveries likely to begin from May.
Positioned as a premium off‑road SUV, the Majestor is expected to rival established models in the segment. The SUV features a bold design with a large grille, split headlamp setup and rugged bumpers. Under the hood, it will be powered by a 2.0‑litre twin‑turbo petrol engine paired with an 8‑speed automatic gearbox.
The SUV will also come with a capable four‑wheel‑drive system along with multiple terrain modes, crawl mode and differential locks aimed at improving off‑road capability.
MG IM6 Electric SUV

Another important launch for MG will be the IM6 electric SUV, which is expected to be sold through the company’s premium dealership network. The model is likely to enter the Indian market around the festive season.
The IM6 is a large electric SUV with a sleek and futuristic design. Internationally, it is offered with a 100 kWh battery pack that can deliver a driving range of over 500 km depending on the drivetrain configuration.
Performance is also expected to be a highlight with powerful electric motors and a feature‑rich interior that includes a massive touchscreen display and premium cabin materials.
MG 520 Plug‑In Hybrid

MG is also planning to introduce a plug‑in hybrid SUV in India based on the Wuling Starlight platform. The model, expected to be called the MG 520, could arrive by October 2026.
This SUV will combine a 1.5‑litre petrol engine with an electric motor and a 20.5 kWh battery pack. In electric mode, the vehicle is expected to offer a driving range of around 100 km, making it suitable for daily commuting without using petrol.
The MG 520 is also expected to feature modern styling, large infotainment displays and advanced driver assistance features.
ZS EV Replacement

MG is preparing a replacement for the current ZS EV as well. The new model will be based on the SIGMA modular platform and is expected to support multiple powertrain options.
Battery options are expected to include packs around 49 kWh and 64 kWh, with a claimed driving range of up to 500 km on a single charge.
The replacement model will likely be positioned in the mid‑range electric SUV segment and could launch with more modern styling and updated technology.
Astor Replacement

Along with the ZS EV replacement, MG is also planning a successor for the Astor SUV. The current Astor has faced increasing competition in the mid‑size SUV segment, prompting the brand to work on a more modern replacement.
The new model will also be based on the SIGMA platform and is expected to feature updated styling, improved interior quality and more technology features when it arrives around 2027.
MG Binguo EV

Finally, MG could introduce a more affordable electric vehicle based on the Wuling Binguo. This compact EV is expected to be positioned in the entry‑level electric segment.
The model is likely to compete with budget electric cars and could be priced between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 12 lakh depending on the variant. International versions of the Binguo EV offer multiple battery options with driving ranges exceeding 400 km in the top configuration.
If launched in India, this EV could help MG expand its presence in the growing affordable electric vehicle segment.
