MG Majestor SUV Launch On Feb 12: Off-Road Modes, 19-Inch Wheels Revealed
MG Motor India is set to enter the premium full-size SUV segment with the new Majestor. Scheduled for its India launch on February 12, the SUV is expected to sit above the Gloster and take on established rivals like the Toyota Fortuner. The brand has already teased several details highlighting its off-road capability, premium features and strong road presence.
Off-Road Features And Capability
MG has confirmed dedicated off-road terrain modes including Rock, Sand and Snow for the Majestor. These are expected to enhance traction and stability across challenging conditions.
The SUV will ride on large 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tyres, reinforcing its rugged positioning. A selectable four-wheel-drive system is also expected, although official confirmation is still awaited.
Engine, Platform And Design Highlights
Powering the Majestor will likely be a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing around 213 bhp and 478 Nm of torque. The engine is expected to be paired with an automatic transmission.
The SUV is based on a body-on-frame platform derived from the global Maxus D90. Styling highlights include a bold grille, split headlamp setup, LED DRLs, muscular proportions and prominent skid plates for a tough visual appeal.
Interior Features And Market Positioning
Inside, the Majestor is expected to feature a large touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, panoramic sunroof and premium audio system.
Additional features may include ventilated seats, three-zone climate control, Level 2 ADAS safety tech and a 360-degree camera. Expected pricing in the Rs 40–45 lakh range positions it against rivals such as the Toyota Fortuner and other premium SUVs in India.
