The Tata Nexon continues to strengthen its position in the Indian SUV market with impressive sales momentum. The compact SUV has now crossed the 10 lakh lifetime sales milestone and is on track to record its highest-ever annual sales in FY2026. Strong monthly demand and multiple powertrain options have helped the model maintain consistent popularity among buyers.

Tata Nexon Sales Milestone Explained

Launched in September 2017, the Nexon became Tata Motors’ first compact SUV and quickly gained traction in the market. Over the years, continuous updates, improved features and multiple fuel options have helped sustain demand.

The SUV recently crossed the 10 lakh cumulative sales mark in India, achieving the milestone in roughly eight and a half years. Interestingly, the second half-million sales came much faster than the first, highlighting accelerating demand for the model.

FY2026 Sales Performance And Record Target

Sales momentum remains strong in FY2026. The Nexon has already posted impressive numbers in the first ten months of the fiscal year with solid year-on-year growth.

At the current pace, total annual sales are expected to cross the 2 lakh mark by the end of FY2026. If achieved, this would make the Nexon one of the highest-selling SUVs in a single fiscal year in India.

Nexon’s Market Position And Competition

The Nexon has consistently ranked among India’s top-selling SUVs and has previously held the annual best-seller title multiple times. Its availability with petrol, diesel, CNG and electric powertrains gives it broad market appeal.

Competition remains strong from models like the Hyundai Creta and even Tata’s own Punch, but the Nexon continues to benefit from strong brand recall, feature upgrades and wide powertrain choices.
