Yamaha Recalls 3.06 Lakh RayZR 125 and Fascino 125 Hybrid Scooters in India

RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid

Yamaha Motor India has announced a voluntary recall affecting 3,06,635 units of its RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid scooters in India. The move has been described as a precautionary service action, aimed at preventing any potential safety concerns.

Recall Reason and Affected Models

According to Yamaha, the recall relates to a front brake component that, under specific riding conditions, may not deliver optimal braking performance. While the issue does not impact every scooter on the road, the company has opted for a preventive correction across the affected batch.

Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid

The recall covers RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid scooters manufactured between May 2, 2024 and September 3, 2025. Both models are built on the same mechanical platform, which is why they have been included together in the campaign.

What Owners Should Do

Yamaha will replace the identified component free of charge at authorised service centres across India. Instead of issuing blanket notifications, the company has enabled a chassis-number-based verification process.

Owners can visit the official India Yamaha Motor website, navigate to the Voluntary Recall Campaign section and enter their scooter’s chassis number to check eligibility. Assistance is also available through authorised dealerships, Yamaha’s toll-free helpline and email support.

Model and Technical Context

Both scooters are powered by Yamaha’s 125cc hybrid engine featuring a Smart Motor Generator, which offers torque assist during take-off, silent starts and automatic stop-start functionality. The Fascino follows a retro-inspired design, while the RayZR adopts a sportier, more aggressive look, with both models remaining key offerings in Yamaha’s hybrid scooter lineup.
