The upcoming Norton Atlas GT has been spotted testing in India for the first time, marking an important step ahead of its expected launch. The Atlas range is positioned as the more accessible offering in Norton’s new line-up and will be manufactured entirely in India.

What Was Spotted on the Test Mule

The test motorcycle was seen in an Instagram reel, though only briefly and mostly from the rear. Even so, several details match the Atlas GT showcased earlier at EICMA. The mirrors, exhaust design and chain shroud appear identical, while hand guards were also visible on the test bike.

A notable addition on the India-spec test mule is the presence of engine crash bars on both sides. The tail section also looks sleeker than the EICMA display bike, with no visible luggage mounting rack. The tail-lamp appears to be integrated into the indicators, adding to the clean rear profile.

Expected Specifications and Hardware

Powering the Norton Atlas GT is expected to be a 585cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine producing around 65–70hp. The bike is likely to weigh close to 200kg, keeping it competitive in the mid-capacity adventure segment.

Unlike the standard Atlas, the Atlas GT is expected to run 17-inch alloy wheels. While the EICMA bikes were seen with Michelin tyres, India-bound versions could switch to Eurogrip rubber.

Launch Timeline and India Plans

The Norton Atlas GT is expected to launch in the first half of the year, following the rollout of Norton’s V4 models. Once launched, the Atlas range will be sold through a global dealer network spanning key markets, including India.
