Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition Launched in India: Prices Start at Rs 16.85 Lakh
Mahindra has introduced the Thar Roxx Star Edition in India, priced from Rs 16.85 lakh (ex-showroom). The new special edition is based on the top-spec AX7L trim and focuses on visual updates rather than mechanical changes, adding a darker aesthetic and a new colour option to the Roxx range.
What’s New in the Thar Roxx Star Edition
The Star Edition stands apart with gloss-black treatment for the grille and alloy wheels, replacing the body-coloured grille and silver-finished alloys seen on the regular Thar Roxx. Mahindra has also added a new Citrine Yellow exterior shade, which contrasts sharply with the blacked-out elements.
In addition to Citrine Yellow, the Star Edition is offered in Tango Red, Everest White and Stealth Black. A Star Edition badge on the C-pillar further differentiates it from the standard model.
Interior Updates and Features
Inside, the Thar Roxx Star Edition switches to an all-black cabin theme. The lighter upholstery used earlier has been replaced with black leatherette upholstery featuring suede accents. Beyond the colour change, the feature list remains identical to the AX7L trim.
It continues to offer all-LED lighting, dual 10.25-inch screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment, front ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof and a 9-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
Engine Options and Drivetrain
The Star Edition retains the same powertrain options as the standard Thar Roxx. Buyers can choose between a 177hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with automatic transmission and a 175hp, 2.2-litre diesel engine with manual or automatic gearboxes.
Notably, the Thar Roxx Star Edition is offered only in rear-wheel-drive form, with no 4×4 option available.
