TVS Orbiter V1 Electric Scooter Launched At Rs. 49,999 With BaaS, 86 km Range
TVS Motor Company has expanded its electric scooter lineup in India with the launch of the Orbiter V1. Positioned as the brand’s most affordable EV scooter, the new variant is designed for urban commuters looking for a budget-friendly electric mobility option. The scooter offers a claimed range of 86 km and introduces a Battery-as-a-Service ownership model to reduce the upfront purchase cost.
TVS Orbiter V1 Price and BaaS Model
The TVS Orbiter V1 is priced at Rs. 49,999 (ex-showroom Delhi) when purchased under the Battery-as-a-Service or BaaS model. Buyers who prefer traditional ownership can purchase the scooter outright for Rs. 84,500 (ex-showroom Delhi). Under the BaaS plan, customers subscribe to the battery separately with plans starting from Rs. 862 per month for a period of 36 months. The subscription also includes an extended battery warranty of up to five years or 70,000 km.
Battery, Range And Charging
Powering the Orbiter V1 is a 1.8 kWh battery pack that delivers a claimed IDC-certified range of 86 km on a single charge. The battery can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in around two hours and twenty minutes. This smaller battery setup helps keep the scooter affordable while still offering sufficient range for daily city commuting.
Features And Practicality
Despite its entry-level positioning, the Orbiter V1 comes with several modern features. It gets a colour LCD display with smartphone connectivity, call and SMS alerts, turn-by-turn navigation and over-the-air updates. Rider aids include Hill Hold Assist, Cruise Control, Parking Assist and Eco and Power ride modes with regenerative braking. The scooter also offers a flat seat, wide floorboard and a 34-litre underseat storage compartment for everyday practicality.
