This Maruti Car Just Hit 30 Lakh Sales And It’s Not An SUV
Maruti Suzuki’s popular compact sedan Dzire has achieved a major milestone in India as cumulative sales have crossed 30 lakh units. The sedan reached this landmark in less than 18 years since its launch in 2008 and continues to remain one of the brand’s most important models.
Despite the strong shift in buyer preference towards SUVs, the Dzire has managed to maintain consistent demand and regularly features among the top-selling cars in the country.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire Crosses 30 Lakh Sales In India

The sales milestone comes soon after the Dzire finished 2025 as the highest-selling passenger vehicle in India. Maruti Suzuki sold more than 2.14 lakh units of the compact sedan during the year, helped largely by the launch of the latest generation model in late 2024.
Originally introduced as the Swift Dzire in 2008, the model has now evolved through four generations. Over the years, it has remained a popular choice among Indian buyers, especially first-time car owners looking for an affordable and practical sedan.
New Generation Dzire Adds Safety, Mileage And Features

The latest fourth-generation Dzire focuses heavily on safety and efficiency. It comes equipped with six airbags, electronic stability program, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat mounts. The sedan has also received a five-star crash safety rating in both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP assessments.
Powering the car is Maruti Suzuki’s Z-Series petrol engine aimed at improving fuel efficiency. The petrol manual variant offers a claimed mileage of 24.79 km/l, while the factory-fitted S-CNG version delivers up to 33.73 km/kg.
In terms of features, the newest Dzire is also the most technology-packed version yet with an electric sunroof, a 360-degree camera and a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
