Sold Out in Minutes, Skoda Octavia RS Gets Second Batch
Skoda India has confirmed a second batch of the Octavia RS for the Indian market after the first lot sold out within minutes of bookings opening. Launched in 2025 with an initial allocation of 100 units, the performance sedan received an overwhelming response, prompting Skoda to bring more cars for interested buyers.
The confirmation comes alongside the unveiling of the Kushaq facelift and Skoda’s announcement to introduce the Kodiaq RS in India, signalling a stronger push towards enthusiast-focused models.

Engine, Performance and Positioning
The Skoda Octavia RS is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 261hp and 370Nm of torque. It is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox and can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 6.4 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.

The sedan features a sport-tuned suspension, progressive steering and an advanced chassis setup aimed at delivering sharper handling and improved driving dynamics.
Features, Safety and Rivals
Priced at Rs 49.99 lakh, the Octavia RS sits in a niche space in the Indian performance car market. Its closest rival is the Volkswagen Golf GTI, which is priced slightly higher and also saw strong demand during its launch.

Design highlights include 19-inch alloy wheels, LED Matrix headlights and glossy black exterior accents. Inside, the Octavia RS offers sporty seats with electric adjustment and massage, a 12.9-inch infotainment system, a digital cockpit and three-zone climate control. Safety is comprehensive, with 10 airbags and a full ADAS suite. Skoda is expected to share more details about the second batch closer to bookings.
