Next-Gen Hyundai i20 Spied With Dual-Screen Interior and ADAS
The next-generation Hyundai i20 has been spotted testing in Europe, offering an early look at the future of the popular hatchback. Prototype models were recently seen undergoing winter testing in the snowy conditions of Scandinavia, indicating that Hyundai is entering the advanced development phase of the new model.
Industry reports suggest the hatchback could debut globally in the second half of 2026 and arrive as a 2027 model year vehicle. Despite the rapid shift toward electric mobility, the new i20 is expected to retain internal combustion engine options to remain accessible in markets where EV infrastructure is still developing.
New Interior With Dual-Screen Layout

One of the biggest updates can be seen inside the cabin. Spy images reveal a completely redesigned dashboard featuring a modern curved dual-screen layout. The setup is expected to include a 12.3-inch infotainment display paired with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
The new display replaces the smaller screens used in the current model and is designed to deliver a cleaner and more premium cabin layout. Another noticeable change is the updated steering wheel, which adopts Hyundai’s new four-dot design language seen in some of the brand’s latest models.
Safety Upgrades and Possible Hybrid Engine

The upcoming i20 is also expected to receive major safety improvements. Reports suggest the hatchback could feature a 360-degree surround-view camera along with a Level 2 ADAS package.
Hyundai may also introduce a hybrid powertrain option to improve fuel efficiency and driving refinement, helping the next-generation i20 stay competitive in the global compact hatchback segment.
