MG Sales Drop 7.81% in April 2026 Despite YoY Growth

JSW MG Motor India reported total sales of 6,018 units in April 2026. This marks a 3.24% year-on-year growth compared to 5,829 units sold in April 2025. However, the numbers show a noticeable decline when compared to March 2026.

On a month-on-month basis, MG’s sales dropped by 7.81%. The company had sold 6,528 units in March 2026, resulting in a decline of 510 units in April. While the YoY growth remains positive with a gain of 189 units, the MoM drop indicates short-term pressure.

The decline can be linked to global factors like the ongoing West Asia crisis, which has impacted supply chains and overall market sentiment. These disruptions may have affected both production and demand during the month.

MG Portfolio Update

MG continues to maintain a balanced portfolio in India. Its ICE lineup includes Hector, Astor and Gloster, while the EV range consists of Comet EV, ZS EV and Windsor EV. The company states that both segments are contributing to overall stability.
