Tata Motors PV Sales Hit 59K in April 2026, Up 31% YoY Despite MoM Dip

Tata Motors reported strong sales performance for April 2026, with passenger vehicle (PV) volumes reaching 59,701 units. This marks 31.12% year-on-year growth from 45,532 units in April 2025, driven largely by rising EV demand and steady SUV sales.

Tata PV Sales April 2026 Numbers

Domestic PV sales stood at 59,000 units, up 30.53% YoY. However, on a month-on-month basis, volumes declined by 10.87% from 66,192 units in March 2026, which is typically seen after year-end dispatch push. Despite this, the YoY growth remains strong.

EVs continue to be a key growth driver for Tata Motors. The company sold 9,150 electric vehicles in April 2026, registering a sharp 72.06% YoY growth. Exports also improved, rising to 701 units, up 110.51% YoY, though volumes remain relatively small.

CV Sales Performance

Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle (CV) segment posted total sales of 34,833 units in April 2026, up 28% YoY. Domestic CV sales reached 32,965 units (+27.9%), while international business contributed 1,868 units (+28.2%).

Segment-wise, growth was broad-based. HCV trucks, ILMCV trucks, passenger carriers and SCV cargo vehicles all recorded healthy gains, with the SCV segment leading growth.

Overall, Tata Motors’ April 2026 performance highlights strong YoY momentum across PV and CV segments, supported by EV adoption and infrastructure-led demand.
