BYD’s Denza Z9 GT Becomes World’s Longest-Range EV With 1,036 KM Range

BYD’s premium sub-brand Denza has officially launched the new Z9 GT electric grand tourer in China. The EV grabs attention with a claimed 1,036 km CLTC driving range, making it one of the longest‑range electric vehicles currently available.

The new model also introduces ultra‑fast charging technology, allowing the battery to charge from around 10 percent to 97 percent in roughly nine minutes. The Z9 GT is offered in five variants in China with prices ranging from 269,800 to 369,800 yuan.

Design And Interior Updates

The Z9 GT receives a refreshed exterior with sharper styling and a more aggressive front fascia. The design features elongated LED headlights, a redesigned bumper, hidden door handles and a sleek fastback rear profile with a sporty spoiler.

A roof‑mounted LiDAR sensor supports advanced driver assistance systems. New wheel designs and subtle styling tweaks further enhance the grand tourer’s sporty appearance.

Inside, the cabin features a modern three‑screen dashboard layout with a large floating central display. Updates include a new column‑mounted gear selector, redesigned steering wheel and upgraded ambient lighting.

The interior also introduces a new Lava Red theme, carbon fibre trim elements and sporty integrated seats. Additional highlights include premium materials, a Boost paddle for performance driving and revised air‑vent designs.

Range, Charging And Performance

Powering the Z9 GT is the second‑generation Blade Battery that enables extremely fast charging. Thanks to this technology, the EV can recharge in about nine minutes under optimal conditions.

The single‑motor rear‑wheel‑drive variant produces 496 hp, while a high‑performance triple‑motor version can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds.

With a maximum range of 1,036 km on the CLTC cycle, the Denza Z9 GT sets a new benchmark for long‑range electric vehicles.
