BYD has officially revealed the new Great Tang electric SUV in China ahead of its expected public appearance at the Beijing Auto Show 2026. The full-size electric crossover stands out with a claimed driving range of up to 950 km along with high performance and advanced technology features.

The Great Tang is based on the brand’s Dynasty design language and represents one of BYD’s most ambitious electric SUVs yet.

Design, Dimensions And Interior Features

The exterior follows BYD’s Dragon Face styling theme and features a distinctive LED light strip known as the “Dragon Whiskers.” A large trapezoidal air intake, semi-hidden door handles and a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor add to the futuristic look.

The SUV measures 5302 mm in length, 1999 mm in width and 1800 mm in height, with a long 3130 mm wheelbase. Large chrome wheels and a clean body design further enhance its road presence.

Inside, the Great Tang offers a three-row layout with seven seats arranged in a 2+2+3 configuration. Premium features include zero-gravity seats, a 27-speaker audio system, a large panoramic roof measuring 6.34 square meters and multiple digital displays across the dashboard.

Passengers also get folding tables, a ceiling-mounted entertainment screen and a built-in refrigerator.

Battery, Range And Performance

The highlight of the Great Tang is BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery with improved energy density and support for megawatt charging.

The rear-wheel-drive variant produces 402 hp and delivers a claimed 950 km range on the CLTC cycle. A more powerful all-wheel-drive version generates 784 hp and can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds while offering around 850 km of range.

The SUV also features rear-wheel steering, DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension and BYD’s DiPilot assisted driving system.
