Ather Rizta Crosses 2 Lakh Units Sales Milestone

Ather Rizta has achieved a major milestone by surpassing 2 lakh unit sales in only 20 months since its launch in April 2024. The e-scooter reached its first 1 lakh sales in May 2025 and has now added another 1 lakh in just six months. With more than 70 percent contribution to Ather’s overall sales, Rizta has become the brand’s strongest performer and a key pillar of its rapid expansion.

Rapid Sales Growth and Expanding Market Presence

Ather revealed that demand for the Rizta has accelerated consistently throughout 2025. The Terracotta Red colour option and the Rizta S variant with the 3.7 kWh battery have contributed heavily to its sales momentum. Riding on this demand, Ather has almost doubled its market share in key regions. In Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the share grew from 7 percent in Q1 FY26 to 14 percent in Q3 FY26.

Punjab recorded an impressive rise from 8 percent to 15 percent, while Uttar Pradesh jumped from 4 percent to 10 percent during the same period. The company also crossed the milestone of 5 lakh electric scooters sold across India, based on Vahan and Telangana Vehicle Online Sales data—another sign of its expanding retail footprint.

Features, Variants and Why Rizta Is Driving Ather’s Growth

The Ather Rizta is offered in two trims—S and Z—with IDC ranges of 123 km and 159 km, respectively. Practicality has been a major selling point, with a generous 56 litres of storage split between 34 litres under the seat and an optional 22-litre frunk accessory. Safety and convenience features such as SkidControl, Fall Safe, Emergency Stop Signal, theft and tow alerts, and ping my scooter (via AtherStack Pro) add to its daily usability.

At Ather Community Day 2025, the Rizta Z received a major technology upgrade with a touchscreen display, enhancing its premium appeal. Ather’s nationwide footprint of 524 Experience Centres as of September 2025 has supported widespread adoption. The Rizta has also begun reaching international customers, with launches in Nepal and Sri Lanka earlier this year.

Ather’s Strategy and Focus Ahead

Commenting on the milestone, CBO Ravneet Singh Phokela said that Rizta has expanded Ather’s addressable market and enabled aggressive distribution growth, especially in northern and central India. The company aims to continue strengthening accessibility through deeper retail presence and sustained product development.
