Bajaj Auto is gearing up for a landmark year in 2026. Rajiv Bajaj has confirmed that multiple new Pulsars will debut as the iconic nameplate completes 25 years since its introduction in 2001. With Pulsar contributing nearly two‑thirds of Bajaj’s domestic motorcycle sales, the company sees these launches as the next big step in strengthening its market position.

Three New Pulsars Set for 2026 Launch

Rajiv Bajaj, speaking to CNBC TV18, stated that several new Pulsar models are planned for launch next year. This follows an earlier update by Rakesh Sharma, who revealed that new Pulsar introductions would roll out in December, March and May. This confirms that at least three all‑new or heavily updated Pulsars are lined up for the next 5–6 months.

The Pulsar brand continues to play a crucial role for Bajaj. The company has already seen its 125cc‑plus segment share rise by 2 percent, supported by strong demand. Recently, Bajaj also introduced a refreshed Pulsar N160 variant with USD forks and a single‑piece seat, signalling the beginning of a broader update cycle.

Bajaj’s Strategy, Challenges and Market Outlook

Rajiv addressed concerns around the recent GST hike for motorcycles above 350cc. He shared that the decision could marginalise large‑capacity bikes in India and limit manufacturers’ ability to build and export such models. Bajaj hopes the government will reconsider the move, stressing that the segment is vital for product development and global competitiveness.

Despite this challenge, Bajaj remains optimistic. In the 250cc‑plus category, the company’s portfolio, Pulsar, Dominar, KTM and Triumph, continues to compete strongly against Royal Enfield. All four brands are exported collectively to over 108 countries, underscoring Bajaj’s global focus.

KTM Growth and Global Ambitions

Rajiv also commented on KTM’s recent performance in India following Bajaj’s increased control. The Austrian brand has recorded its highest‑ever retail numbers with launches like the new Duke 160, 390 Adventure and Supermoto. Additionally, around 10,000 Made‑in‑India KTM motorcycles are exported to the US every year, strengthening Bajaj’s international presence.
