2026 Mercedes V-Class Launched at ₹1.4 Crore, Locally Made in Pune
The 2026 Mercedes V-Class has been launched in India at an introductory price of ₹1.4 crore (ex-showroom). The luxury MPV will now be locally assembled at Mercedes-Benz India’s Chakan plant in Pune, a move that has helped position it more competitively in the segment.
Bookings are open, with deliveries scheduled to begin by the end of March. The company has confirmed that customers booking at the introductory price will be protected from near-term price hikes.
Pricing, Powertrain and Localisation

Unlike the earlier CBU model, the new V-Class is assembled in India from knocked-down kits. Mercedes-Benz stated that without localisation, pricing could have been closer to ₹1.9–2 crore.
The MPV is offered in V300 petrol mild-hybrid and V300d diesel variants. The petrol unit produces 170 kW, supported by an ISG boost of 15 kW, while the diesel generates 174 kW. Both are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and feature Airmatic suspension tuned for Indian roads.
Features and Market Positioning

India receives the extra-long wheelbase version as standard, featuring a six-seat 2+2+2 layout. Highlights include ventilated and massage seats, 64-colour ambient lighting, a 640W Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos, and seven airbags with advanced driver assistance systems.
With local production and premium positioning, the V-Class directly challenges the Toyota Vellfire in India’s growing luxury mobility space.
