The top 10 best-selling cars February 2026 list highlights continued SUV dominance in India, with Tata Nexon retaining the top spot. The compact SUV recorded 19,430 units, narrowly staying ahead of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
Splitting the Tata duo, the Dzire posted 19,326 units, while the Tata Punch followed closely with 18,748 units, reinforcing Tata Motors’ strong presence in the domestic market.

SUV Dominance Continues
SUVs occupied the majority of the list, with Nexon, Punch, Creta, Brezza and Scorpio sustaining strong volumes. The Hyundai Creta maintained its grip on the midsize SUV segment with 17,938 units.

Maruti Suzuki continued its broad-based strength, placing five models in the top 10, including Brezza, Ertiga, Wagon R, Swift and Baleno.
Despite SUV momentum, the Dzire proved that compact sedans still command demand, particularly among fleet and private buyers.
With tight margins among the top three and consistent SUV preference, February 2026 once again underlined India’s shift toward high-riding, feature-rich utility vehicles.
