Volvo EX30 Dropped In The U.S., Continues In Canada
The Volvo EX30 has been discontinued in the U.S. after just two model years, as policy changes and tariffs continue to impact the EV market. Despite efforts to shift production to Europe, the compact electric SUV could not sustain its position.
However, the situation is different in other markets, with the EX30 continuing to be sold in Canada and Mexico.
Tariffs And Policy Changes Force Early Exit From U.S. Market

The decision to drop the EX30 comes after new U.S. tariffs on foreign-built vehicles and the removal of EV tax credits. These changes significantly affected the affordability of the model, which was positioned as Volvo’s entry-level electric SUV.
U.S. dealers have reportedly been given until March 20, 2026, to place final orders, with production for the market expected to end by late summer.
Still On Sale In Canada With Lower Price And Multiple Variants

In contrast, the Volvo EX30 remains available in Canada with a starting price of around $49,950. The base single-motor version produces 268 hp and offers a claimed range of 420 km.
Dual-motor variants deliver up to 422 hp with all-wheel drive and a slightly lower range of 407 km. Volvo also offers a more rugged Cross Country version aimed at buyers looking for added versatility.
With government incentives still in place, the EX30 continues to offer strong value in markets outside the U.S.
