The Urban Cruiser Ebella EV is Toyota’s version of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, built on the same underlying platform but with brand-specific styling touches. For Toyota, this model is significant as it becomes the company’s first all-electric vehicle for the Indian market, expanding its portfolio beyond petrol, diesel and hybrid offerings.

Toyota is offering the Urban Cruiser Ebella EV with two LFP battery pack options. The smaller 49kWh battery produces around 142–144hp with 189Nm of torque, while the larger 61kWh unit develops close to 172–174hp, with torque remaining the same.
The bigger battery pack delivers a claimed range of up to 543km on the ARAI test cycle, which places the Ebella EV among the longest-range electric SUVs in its segment. Buyers will also have the choice of both 2WD and AWD drivetrains, a feature that is still relatively rare in this category.

On the feature front, the Urban Cruiser Ebella EV mirrors much of what we’ve seen on the e Vitara, with a strong focus on comfort and technology. The cabin gets a twin-screen layout, comprising a 10.1-inch digital driver’s display and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Safety is another key highlight. Toyota offers seven airbags as standard, along with disc brakes on all four wheels. Higher variants add a Level 2 ADAS suite, including adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist, as well as a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold.
Design and Interior Overview
While the silhouette is shared with the Maruti e Vitara, Toyota has given the Ebella EV its own visual identity. It features sleeker LED headlamps with segmented DRLs, a revised front bumper with vertical air vents, 18-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels and distinctive LED tail-lamps. The charging port is placed on the left front fender.
Inside, the layout remains familiar, but Toyota offers different interior colour themes, including dual-tone combinations. Features such as ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, a JBL sound system, wireless charging, powered driver’s seat and sliding and reclining rear seats aim to enhance overall comfort.

Booking Details and What’s Next
Toyota has opened bookings for the Urban Cruiser Ebella EV with a token amount of Rs 25,000. While full variant-wise pricing is yet to be announced, the brand has confirmed an eight-year battery warranty, over 500 EV-enabled service touchpoints and options like Battery-as-a-Service to make ownership more flexible.
With deliveries and final prices expected to be revealed closer to launch, the Ebella EV is shaping up to be a crucial product for Toyota’s electric ambitions in India.
