November 2025 was a strong month for India’s passenger vehicle market, despite cooling festive demand and rising competition among SUV-focused brands. Major manufacturers posted solid numbers backed by high SUV demand and fresh product momentum. Maruti Suzuki continued its dominance, while Mahindra made a headline-worthy move up to second place.

Maruti, Mahindra and Tata Lead the Charge in India
Maruti Suzuki stayed way ahead at the top, crossing 1.55 lakh units with popular models like the Swift, Brezza, Fronx and Wagon R driving demand. Its EV footprint is set to grow with the upcoming e Vitara.
Mahindra made a notable jump to second place with 54,005 units, driven by the strong reception to its modern lineup, including Scorpio-N, Thar and the new XEV electric range. Tata Motors closely followed, supported by its mix of EVs and ICE SUVs like Punch EV and Harrier.
Strong Mid-Table: Hyundai, Toyota and Kia
Hyundai finished fourth with nearly 50,000 units, maintaining stable demand for Creta and Venue. Toyota continued its upward momentum with 27,660 units, thanks to Innova Hycross and the Urban Cruiser lineup.
Kia impressed with 23,675 units and 24% growth, achieving its highest-ever November wholesales. It benefited from strong Carens and Sonet numbers.
The Gainers – Skoda, MG, Honda, Renault
Skoda posted a massive 90% growth on the back of Kushaq and Kylaq, while MG clocked 5,754 units with the Windsor and ZS EV helping expand its presence. Honda and Renault rounded off the top 10, as both brands aim to regain stronger positions.

SUV competition is heating up as brands push new launches and tech-rich models into 2026. Mahindra overtaking Tata underlines rising preference for rugged yet tech-forward SUVs.
