This Popular Chinese SUV Has Been Recalled In The UK
Jaecoo has issued a recall for thousands of Jaecoo 7 SUVs in the UK after a potential electronic issue was discovered. The problem affects vehicles built during 2025 and could lead to warning lights or unexpected engine stalling.
Around 7,500 units are believed to be impacted, which represents roughly a quarter of all the cars the Chinese brand sold in the UK last year.
Wiring Harness Issue Behind The Recall

The recall is related to a wiring harness clip connected to the vehicle’s Electronic Control Unit (ECU). In some vehicles the clip may not have been attached correctly during production.
If this occurs, drivers may see an engine warning light appear on the dashboard. In rare cases it could also cause the engine to stall while driving.
The affected vehicles were produced between April and December 2025.
Which Models Are Affected
Jaecoo has confirmed that only the Jaecoo 7 equipped with the 1.6‑litre TGi petrol engine is part of the recall. The plug‑in hybrid version of the SUV is not affected.

Interestingly, the Omoda 5 – which shares a similar powertrain – has not been included in the recall at this stage.
What Owners Should Know
Jaecoo says this is not a stop‑drive recall, meaning owners can continue using their vehicles while waiting for repairs.
Customers will be contacted through dealerships and the brand’s CRM system, and affected vehicles will receive a free inspection and repair.
