Tesla Removes Model S And Model X From Referral Program In North America

Tesla Referral Program Changes

Tesla has quietly updated its referral program across the United States and Canada, removing the Model S and Model X from the list of vehicles eligible for referral discounts. The change also includes adjustments to Cybertruck incentives and loyalty rewards for existing owners.

These updates appear to be part of Tesla’s evolving incentive strategy as the company prepares for changes to its flagship lineup.

Model S And Model X Lose Referral Incentives

Previously, buyers purchasing a new Model S or Model X could receive a referral discount of US$1,000 or C$1,300 by using a referral link from an existing Tesla owner.

With the latest update, these benefits are no longer available for the two flagship models. The move comes shortly after Tesla confirmed plans to end Model S and Model X production in the second quarter of 2026.

Cybertruck Referral Rewards Changed

Tesla has also revised referral incentives for the Cybertruck. Buyers of the Premium AWD and the high‑performance Cyberbeast variants previously received the same US$1,000 or C$1,300 referral discount.

The cash discount has now been removed. Instead, buyers will receive three months of Full Self‑Driving (Supervised) access as the referral reward.

Loyalty Discounts Reduced

Tesla has also reduced loyalty incentives for existing owners purchasing another vehicle. In Canada, the loyalty reward has been cut from C$1,300 to C$650.

In the United States, the loyalty discount has dropped from US$1,000 to US$500. The dual‑motor Cybertruck AWD variant is not eligible for this loyalty benefit.
