Tata Sierra Crosses 1 Lakh Bookings, Production Increased
The new Tata Sierra has crossed the 1 lakh booking milestone in India within just a few months of its launch. Strong customer demand has prompted Tata Motors to ramp up production to reduce waiting periods and clear the growing order backlog.
The SUV was launched in November 2025 with prices ranging from Rs 11.49 lakh to Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned above the Curvv in Tata’s SUV lineup, the Sierra quickly gained attention for its retro-inspired design and modern technology package.
Strong Demand After Launch

Deliveries of the Sierra began around mid-January 2026 and more than 14,000 units had already been shipped to dealerships and customers by February. Despite the production ramp-up, the SUV currently carries a waiting period of roughly three to four months, depending on the variant.
Automatic versions generally require a longer wait, while diesel variants also tend to take slightly more time compared to petrol models.
Engines, Variants, and Features
The Tata Sierra is offered with three engine options. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 106 PS and 145 Nm, while the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol generates 160 PS and 255 Nm. The diesel option is a 1.5-litre unit producing 120 PS and up to 280 Nm of torque.

Transmission choices include a six-speed manual, six-speed automatic and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Built on Tata’s ARGOS architecture, the Sierra features a modern cabin with a three-screen dashboard layout, JBL sound system with dashboard soundbar, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof and powered tailgate. It also comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera system.
