Lamborghini CEO Hints At More Off-Road Sports Cars After Sterrato
Lamborghini may develop more off-road focused sports cars in the future following the success of the Huracan Sterrato. The rugged supercar, introduced in 2023, proved there is strong global interest in high-performance models that combine supercar performance with light off-road capability.
According to Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann, the idea of more Sterrato-style models is not completely ruled out. While such vehicles are not currently confirmed, the brand remains open to exploring similar concepts if resources allow and market demand remains strong.
Success Of Huracan Sterrato Sparks New Possibilities

The Huracan Sterrato transformed the traditional supercar formula by adding off-road capability. It featured all-terrain tyres, increased ground clearance and a revised suspension setup while still delivering strong performance from its naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine.
Despite its rugged upgrades, the Sterrato could accelerate from 0–100 km/h in about 3.4 seconds. The model also stood out as one of the few off-road inspired supercars in the market, alongside cars like the Porsche 911 Dakar.
Lamborghini’s Future Models And Off-Road Heritage

Although Lamborghini’s focus remains on performance and electrification, the brand has experimented with off-road capable vehicles before. Historic examples include the LM002 off-roader and the modern Urus performance SUV.
Looking ahead, Lamborghini is preparing to expand its lineup with a fourth model expected later in the decade, based on the Lanzador concept. While the next generation of supercars will increasingly adopt hybrid technology, the brand has not ruled out more adventurous variants inspired by the Sterrato.
