Tata Motors Signs Deal to Supply 70,000 Commercial Vehicles in Indonesia

The Tata Motors Indonesia order marks a major commercial vehicle export deal, with the Indian automaker signing an agreement to supply 70,000 vehicles in the country. The vehicles will be delivered through its wholly owned subsidiary, PT Tata Motors Distribusi Indonesia.

70,000 Vehicle Order Details

The agreement covers 35,000 Yodha pick-ups and 35,000 Ultra T.7 trucks. These vehicles are intended for PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara, an Indonesian state-owned enterprise focused on agricultural logistics and food security initiatives.

They will be deployed under the Koperasi Desa and Kelurahan Merah Putih Project, which aims to strengthen rural connectivity and improve farm-to-market transportation across Indonesia.

Export Role and Vehicle Capabilities

The Yodha pick-up is positioned as a rugged platform suited for last-mile connectivity in challenging terrain, while the Ultra T.7 truck is designed for efficient urban and rural logistics operations.

Tata Motors currently operates in over 40 countries, offering commercial vehicles ranging from sub-1-tonne to 60-tonne cargo capacity along with passenger transport solutions. Manufacturing facilities are located in India and South Korea, supported by global distribution networks.

The phased delivery programme will help integrate the vehicles into Indonesia’s rural transportation ecosystem, supporting agricultural logistics and regional goods movement.
