Renault has teased a new concept called the Bridger, hinting at the possibility of a compact lifestyle SUV for the Indian market. The teaser image suggests a rugged model positioned below the upcoming new-generation Duster, potentially creating a fresh sub‑segment within Renault’s SUV lineup.

If brought to production, the Bridger could target buyers interested in compact off‑road styled SUVs. Its positioning may place it between the Kiger compact SUV and the midsize Duster, giving Renault a broader presence across multiple SUV segments in India.

Renault Bridger Concept Design and Positioning

The teaser reveals a boxy and upright silhouette, pointing to a lifestyle‑oriented design. Squared-off front and rear sections, tall pillars and a flat roofline give the Bridger a strong off‑road character. The presence of chunky roof rails and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel further enhances its rugged appeal.

These design cues suggest Renault could be aiming to compete with models such as the Mahindra Thar and Maruti Suzuki Jimny while also preparing for future compact lifestyle SUVs expected in the market.

Powertrain Possibilities and Launch Timeline

While Renault has not revealed technical specifications yet, the production version could use the familiar 1.0‑litre turbo petrol HR10 engine currently offered in the Kiger. Transmission choices may include both a manual gearbox and a CVT automatic.

Whether the model will feature a proper four‑wheel‑drive system remains unclear. Renault is currently prioritising the launch of the new Duster and a three‑row derivative, meaning the Bridger‑based SUV may only arrive later, potentially around 2027.
