NIO Firefly EV Launches in Thailand as Second Right-Hand Drive Market
NIO has officially introduced its Firefly electric hatchback in Thailand, marking the country as the second right‑hand drive market for the model after Singapore. The launch took place in Bangkok on March 5, 2026, as part of the company’s broader strategy to expand into global markets where electric vehicles face fewer import barriers.

NIO Expands Firefly to Thailand
The Firefly will be distributed locally through Thonburi BlueSky, a subsidiary of Thailand’s Thonburi Group. NIO sees Thailand as a key market in Southeast Asia, and the launch represents the next step in a regional rollout that will also include Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
The Firefly is a compact five‑door electric hatchback measuring 4,003 mm in length with a 2,615 mm wheelbase. It is powered by a single rear‑mounted electric motor producing 105 kW (141 hp) and 200 Nm of torque. The motor is paired with a 42.1 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack.

The electric hatchback delivers a WLTP‑rated driving range of 330 km, while the Chinese CLTC cycle claims up to 420 km. DC fast charging supports speeds of up to 100 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in around 30 minutes.
Thai pricing and variant details for the Firefly are expected to be announced later in March.
