Mumbai–Pune Expressway to Reopen After Gas Tanker Accident

Traffic on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway was disrupted on Tuesday after a gas tanker overturned near the Adoshi Tunnel. The tanker was carrying inflammable gas, raising safety concerns and causing heavy congestion on the route.

Officials said the expressway is expected to reopen from midnight once the tanker removal work is completed.

Gas Tanker Overturns Near Adoshi Tunnel

The accident caused long traffic jams on the expressway. As a precaution, traffic heading towards Mumbai was diverted from Kiwale to the old Pune–Mumbai highway. Authorities worked through the day to clear the overturned tanker safely.

Expressway Reopening Soon, Travel Advisory Issued

Traffic police advised people to avoid non-essential travel until the expressway fully reopens. Motorists have also been asked to check live traffic updates before starting their journey.

Officials said the situation is under control and normal traffic movement is expected once clearance work is finished.
