Maruti Suzuki Launches e Vitara EV in India With Battery Subscription Pricing
Maruti e-Vitara EV India launch marks the company’s entry into the fully electric SUV space. The model arrives with a battery-as-a-service (BAAS) pricing structure, positioning it competitively while expanding the brand’s electrification strategy in the country.

The electric SUV starts at ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) under a battery subscription plan. Ownership incentives include a three-year assured buyback, complimentary home charger installation and a year of free public charging support.
Production has begun at Maruti Suzuki’s Gujarat plant with export units already rolling out. The company is also working on expanding charging infrastructure nationwide to support EV adoption.
The SUV directly targets rivals in the growing electric midsize SUV segment while emphasising long-term ecosystem development alongside the product itself.
Battery, Range, Features And Safety Highlights
Two lithium-iron-phosphate battery options are available: 48.8 kWh and 61.1 kWh. Power outputs stand at 144 PS and 174 PS respectively, both producing 192.5 Nm of torque. The larger battery claims a driving range of up to 543 km.
DC fast charging allows a 0–80 percent top-up in roughly fifty minutes. The dedicated Heartect-e platform supports spacious proportions along with practical ground clearance and boot capacity.

Interior highlights include dual digital displays, powered front seats, connected car technology, automatic climate control and Level 2 ADAS features including adaptive cruise control.
Safety credentials are strong with a five-star Bharat NCAP evaluation, seven airbags as standard, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Overall, the e Vitara signals Maruti Suzuki’s serious push into the electric SUV segment with competitive pricing, long range capability and a growing support ecosystem.
