Mahindra has launched its all-new electric 4-wheeler (4W) ZEO EV truck just in time for the festive season. This marks Mahindra’s first venture into the 4W electric pickup segment, challenging the Tata Ace EV with a starting price of Rs 7.52 Lakh.
ZEO is packed with features designed to appeal to India’s growing demand for eco-friendly commercial vehicles.

First in Electric Pickup Trucks
Mahindra’s ZEO stands for Zero Emission Option and it brings many advanced features commonly seen in personal vehicles(PVs) to the commercial vehicle(CV) space. Some highlights include ADAS, Driver monitoring, and even a BaaS model, making it a cost-effective solution for fleet operators.
For the first time, Mahindra has equipped its electric truck with BaaS, allowing owners to rent batteries, cutting down on upfront costs. With a rental cost of Rs 2.25 per km, This option can significantly reduce operational expenses.
ZEO Design and Tech
ZEO EV follows Mahindra’s signature look but with a modern, eco-friendly twist. The front fascia features vertical slats highlighted in blue, signaling its electric powertrain and zero-emission promise.
Inside, the cabin is functional with seating for three occupants. It also comes with tech features like Eco and Power drive modes, Creep Function, and a range of ADAS features like Forward Collision alerts, pedestrian detection, and Lane departure warnings.
Battery and Performance of ZEO EV
The ZEO is powered by a single electric motor delivering 40 bhp and 114 Nm of torque. With two battery options – 18.4 kWh and 21.3 kWh – user can choose based on their driving needs. A real-world range of 160 km ensures it can handle daily urban commutes, while the claimed ARAI range of 246km offers more flexibility for longer hauls.
Charging is convenient with DC fast charging, which takes 60 minutes to add 100km of range. for home charging, a full charge takes about 7 hours, making it suitable for overnight charging.
