Upcoming Mahindra Vision S Spied, New Compact SUV Based on NU_IQ Platform
Mahindra Vision S spied in India reports continue as the upcoming compact SUV has once again been seen on test roads. The model is expected to expand Mahindra’s future SUV portfolio and could arrive around 2027, although official confirmation is still awaited.
Mahindra Vision S Spotted Testing Again in India
Recent spy shots indicate steady development progress. The Vision S is expected to slot between the Scorpio N and the smaller XUV 3XO in Mahindra’s SUV lineup.

The test vehicle shows an upright and boxy stance with squared window outlines, chunky wheel arches and a rear-mounted spare wheel. Thick rear pillars and a relatively slim rear windscreen further define its profile while the overall size appears more urban-friendly than the Scorpio N.
Platform, Features and Expected Powertrain Details
Unlike traditional ladder-frame Mahindra SUVs, the Vision S will be based on the new NU_IQ monocoque architecture. The modular platform is designed for future utility vehicles and focuses on lighter and more versatile construction.

The production version could share engine options with the XUV 3XO along with manual and automatic transmission choices. Earlier prototype sightings suggested a semi-digital instrument cluster, second-row assist handles and expectations of features like a panoramic sunroof, touchscreen infotainment, cruise control, adjustable headrests, rear armrest and standard three-point seatbelts.
The upcoming SUV is also expected to target strong safety credentials under Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP testing once it reaches production.
