Kinetic To Launch New Electric Scooters In India
Kinetic is gearing up for a major comeback in the Indian two-wheeler market with a fresh lineup of electric scooters and motorcycles. The company has confirmed plans to introduce new EVs across the personal and commercial mobility space, strengthening its presence in one of the fastest-growing electric vehicle markets in the world.
Kinetic’s New Electric Scooter Lineup For India
In its latest investor presentation, Kinetic Engineering Ltd revealed that it will launch multiple electric scooters developed using in-house technology. Motors, controllers and battery packs will be locally manufactured to improve efficiency and cost control.
Battery supply will come from the company’s Range-X facility, which has an annual capacity of 60,000 LFP and NMC battery units. Kinetic aims to retail 5,000 electric scooters by March 2026 before expanding production to 60,000 units per year by FY 2026-27.
To support the expansion, the EV brand plans to set up more than 500 dealerships across major cities in India.
Electric Motorcycles And Delivery EVs Incoming
Apart from scooters, Kinetic will introduce electric motorcycles focused on everyday commuters. Additionally, commercial-use EVs will be launched to cater to India’s fast-growing last-mile delivery business, where operators are increasingly shifting toward low-maintenance electric two-wheelers.
These products are expected to offer high durability and low running costs, making them attractive for fleet buyers.
Kinetic DX100: The First Step In Its EV Revival
Kinetic recently re-entered the EV market by relaunching the iconic DX100 in a modern all-electric avatar. The scooter is available in two trims — DX and DX Plus — priced at Rs 1.11 lakh and Rs 1.17 lakh, respectively.
It features a retractable charging cable, keyless operation, a voice-enabled My Kiney companion app and 37 litres of under-seat storage. Power comes from a 2.6 kWh LFP battery pack offering an IDC range of 116 km and a top speed of 90 kmph. Three ride modes, Range, Power and Turbo, provide varied performance based on user needs.
Expansion Strategy And Global Plans
To scale efficiently, Kinetic Watts & Volts, a subsidiary of Kinetic Engineering, will establish a specialised Kinetic Lab for EV training. Technicians, service engineers and dealer personnel will be trained in diagnostics and battery management to strengthen after-sales operations.
The company aims to enter select international markets by 2027 as part of its global EV roadmap.
