JSW MG Crosses 70,500 Sales in 2025: EV Strategy Starts Paying Off

MG Joins the Price Hike Wave Ahead of

JSW MG’s 2025 journey shows how quickly India’s passenger vehicle market is shifting. The company closed the year with more than 70,500 units sold, a 19 percent jump that didn’t come from discounts or short-term hype. The momentum was built on two pillars: rising EV trust among Indians and MG’s aggressive push to lead that space.

The Windsor EV turned out to be MG’s strongest card. It helped the brand cross one lakh cumulative EV sales in India and stayed at the top of the electric passenger vehicle charts through 2025. This signals something bigger. Indian buyers are no longer treating EVs as niche products. Practical range, lower running costs and improving charging access are slowly winning over mainstream families.

MG also expanded its premium footprint through Select showrooms, which grew at a fast pace as interest picked up for the M9 electric MPV and the Cyberster sportscar. Both models helped MG build an image beyond mass EVs, making the brand more aspirational.

Another smart move was the introduction of an assured buy-back programme for EVs. With resale value being one of the biggest concerns for first-time buyers, this scheme could reduce hesitation and push more customers toward electrics.

The company’s product actions in December, including the updated Hector, added further excitement. Looking ahead, MG is expected to widen its lineup with models like the Majestor and more premium EVs from its global portfolio. If these plans roll out on time, MG could strengthen its position as a key player in India’s fast-growing EV space.
