Hyundai Just Updated One Of India’s Most Popular Sedans
Hyundai has introduced the updated 2026 Verna in India with prices starting at ₹10.98 lakh (ex‑showroom). The midsize sedan receives more than 25 updates across design, interior features and safety, strengthening its position in one of the country’s most competitive sedan segments.
The latest Verna continues to rival popular models like the Honda City, Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus. Hyundai says the update focuses on improving the sedan’s premium appeal while adding more technology and safety features for Indian buyers.
Design, Dimensions And Interior Updates

Visually, the updated Verna gets several revisions that give it a more premium appearance. Key exterior highlights include a black chrome radiator grille, dual LED projector headlamps, redesigned front and rear bumpers and new 16‑inch diamond‑cut alloy wheels.
The sedan measures 4,535 mm in length, 1,765 mm in width and has a 2,670 mm wheelbase, which helps provide generous cabin space. Hyundai has also added premium touches inside the cabin such as a D‑cut steering wheel, leatherette seat upholstery and an eight‑way electrically adjustable driver seat with memory function.
Other comfort features include a four‑way electrically adjustable front passenger seat, rear window sunshade, smart trunk function and a 528‑litre boot capacity.
Features, Engine Options And Safety

Technology remains one of the Verna’s biggest highlights. The sedan features dual 10.25‑inch displays for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. It also offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, an electric sunroof and Hyundai Bluelink connected car technology with more than 70 connected features.
Under the hood, the Verna continues with two petrol engine options. The 1.5‑litre MPi petrol engine produces 115 PS and 144 Nm and is available with a six‑speed manual or IVT automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the 1.5‑litre Turbo GDi engine develops 160 PS and 253 Nm and can be paired with either a six‑speed manual or a seven‑speed dual‑clutch transmission.
Hyundai has also strengthened safety in the updated sedan. The Verna now offers over 75 safety features including seven airbags, Level‑2 ADAS with 20 functions, a surround view monitor and an integrated dashcam.
Overall, the updated Hyundai Verna aims to reinforce its appeal with more technology, stronger safety equipment and improved interior comfort while continuing to compete in the popular midsize sedan segment.
