Honda Starts Pan-India Testing For 0 Alpha Electric SUV

Honda has officially begun pan-India road testing of its upcoming 0 Alpha electric SUV. The prototype testing programme marks an important step in the brand’s electrification plans for the Indian market.
The public road verification trials were flagged off from Honda’s manufacturing facility in Tapukara, Rajasthan. Engineers will drive the prototype across different regions to evaluate its real-world performance in varied driving conditions.

Honda 0 Alpha Electric SUV Testing Details
During the testing phase, Honda engineers will assess the vehicle across a wide range of parameters, including ride comfort, handling, efficiency, durability and reliability.

The road testing exercise will help Honda fine-tune the vehicle for Indian driving conditions before the production model is introduced.
The electric SUV will also be tested in demanding environments such as extreme summer heat and monsoon conditions. Charging compatibility across different charging networks will also be evaluated as part of the programme.
Honda 0 Alpha Design, Battery And Expected Launch
The 0 Alpha follows Honda’s “Thin, Light and Wise” engineering philosophy. The SUV features a sleek upright profile with prominent wheel arches, a wide bonnet and stacked lighting elements.
The electric SUV is expected to be offered with two battery pack options. Honda is targeting a claimed driving range of more than 500 km on a single charge.

The production version is expected to debut globally around 2027, with India likely to be among the early markets for the new electric SUV.
