Honda Insight Reborn As Electric Model Based On e:NS2 From China
The Honda Insight nameplate has returned, but in a very different form from before. Instead of a hybrid sedan, the latest Insight is now a fully electric model and is essentially a rebadged version of the Honda e:NS2 sold in China. The revival marks another step in Honda’s broader shift toward electrification in global markets.
Insight Returns With Electric Power

The new Insight uses a single front‑mounted electric motor producing around 201 horsepower and 229 lb‑ft of torque. Power comes from a 68.8kWh battery pack, with Honda claiming a driving range of about 311 miles on the WLTC test cycle.
Charging performance is also competitive for the segment. The battery can reportedly charge from 30 to 80 percent in around 36 minutes, making it suitable for longer trips as well as daily driving.
Design, Interior And Platform
Visually, the new Insight adopts a sleek fastback profile that gives it a sportier look than previous generations. The design is somewhat reminiscent of the Civic hatchback but with sharper lighting elements and crossover‑inspired styling.

Inside, the cabin features a clean dashboard layout with a large 12.8‑inch infotainment screen and a slim 9.4‑inch digital driver display. Most functions are controlled through the touchscreen, with very few physical buttons.
Because the car is based on the e:NS2 built in China, the new Insight is expected to remain focused on that market, with little chance of reaching markets such as the United States.
