Honda Issues Recall for CBR650R and CB1000 Hornet SP in India, Repairs Free of Cost
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has announced a recall for two of its big bikes sold in the country: the CBR650R and the CB1000 Hornet SP. The recall has been issued for different technical reasons on each model, and Honda has confirmed that any necessary repairs will be carried out free of cost.
Why Honda has recalled the CBR650R and CB1000 Hornet SP
The Honda CBR650R has been recalled due to a potential issue with the turn indicator wiring. According to Honda, a wiring component in the indicator assembly may come into contact with a metal part, and over time, vibration could lead to a short circuit. This could result in certain lights not functioning as intended. Units manufactured between 16 December 2024 and 4 May 2025 may be affected.

The CB1000 Hornet SP, on the other hand, has been recalled over oil consumption concerns. Honda has stated that variations in oil consumption due to specific part-related conditions could impact oil pressure if levels are not monitored regularly, potentially affecting normal engine operation. CB1000 Hornet SP motorcycles produced between 30 September 2024 and 22 August 2025 fall under this recall.

What affected owners should do next
Owners of either motorcycle can check whether their bike is affected by entering the vehicle identification number on Honda’s official website. If eligible, customers can visit their nearest authorised BigWing dealership, where inspections and part replacements will be carried out free of charge, regardless of the motorcycle’s warranty status.
