Honda Cancels Three Upcoming EVs Including Honda 0 SUV and Acura RSX
Honda Motor Company has cancelled development and launch plans for three upcoming electric vehicles as it reassesses its electrification strategy. According to a report by TheCarGuide, the company has decided to halt these projects after reviewing current market conditions and declining EV demand.
Three EV Models Cancelled
The cancelled vehicles include the Honda 0 SUV, the Honda 0 Saloon from the brand’s new 0 Series platform and the Acura RSX luxury crossover. These models were originally planned for the North American market and were expected to enter production in the coming years.

Honda explained that launching these EVs in the current environment, where demand for electric vehicles has slowed in some markets, could lead to long‑term financial losses. The decision is expected to result in a write‑off estimated at around 2.5 trillion yen.
Shift Towards Hybrids

With the cancellation of these EVs, Honda is now expected to focus more on hybrid vehicles in the near future. The company plans to introduce next‑generation hybrid models starting around 2027 while monitoring the global EV market more closely.
Currently, the only major EV left in Honda’s lineup for North America is the Honda Prologue, which was developed in partnership with General Motors.
