Fortuner Rival MG Majestor India

JSW MG Motor India has confirmed that the Majestor full-size SUV will be launched in India on February 12, 2026. First showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo, the Majestor is set to become MG’s new flagship SUV, positioned above the Gloster and aimed squarely at rivals such as the Toyota Fortuner.

The MG Majestor features a classic full-size SUV design with a boxy profile and upright stance. Up front, it gets a large rectangular grille paired with a split lighting setup, with LED DRLs positioned near the bonnet and vertically stacked headlamps placed lower on the bumper. At the rear, connected LED tail-lamps add a modern touch to the otherwise rugged design.

In profile, the Majestor closely resembles the Gloster, with a strong shoulder line and heavy cladding around the wheel arches and lower body. The SUV is based on the global Maxus D90 and carries forward its imposing road presence.

MG has not yet revealed interior details for the Indian market. However, the Majestor is expected to offer a premium cabin with a large free-standing touchscreen, soft-touch materials and a three-row seating layout.

Powertrain details are also awaited, though the Majestor is likely to share the Gloster’s 2.0-litre diesel engine options, paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Both 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrain configurations are expected.

With the Majestor, MG aims to strengthen its presence in the premium full-size SUV segment in India. More details on variants, features and pricing are expected closer to the launch date.
