Dacia is working on a new small electric car that will cost less than €18,000, making it one of the most affordable EVs in Europe. The upcoming model will expand the brand’s electric lineup and strengthen its reputation for offering simple and budget‑friendly vehicles.

The new EV is part of Dacia’s broader plan to introduce several electric models by 2030. Development of the car reportedly took less than 16 months, highlighting the company’s push to quickly bring affordable electric mobility to a wider audience.

The upcoming model will use the AmpR Small platform, the same architecture that underpins the Renault 5 electric hatchback. Using a shared platform will allow Dacia to keep development costs low while offering modern electric technology.

Dacia already sells the Spring as its entry-level electric car, but this new model will be positioned as a more advanced and better equipped option. While the final design has not been revealed yet, it could take inspiration from the brand’s compact Hipster concept.

The new EV will be one of several models planned for the coming years, alongside the upcoming Striker SUV and a next-generation Sandero expected to adopt hybrid technology.
