Buick Electra E7 Plug-In Hybrid SUV Revealed With 1,000-Mile Range
Buick has previewed the Electra E7, a new plug-in hybrid SUV designed primarily for the Chinese market. The model stands out for its impressive combined driving range of over 1,600 km (around 1,000 miles) under the CLTC cycle, making it one of the longest-range hybrid SUVs announced recently.
The crossover is expected to debut officially later this year and combines a sleek exterior design with a technology-focused and lounge-like interior.
Sleek Design and Large Dimensions

The Electra E7 adopts Buick’s latest design language with a shark-nose front fascia and split lighting setup. Slim C-shaped daytime running lights sit above L-shaped headlamps, while the rear features distinctive “galaxy wing” LED tail lamps and a prominent spoiler.
Measuring 4,850 mm in length with a 2,850 mm wheelbase, the SUV sits between the Envision and the larger Enclave in Buick’s lineup.
Premium Cabin With Lounge Features

Inside, the Electra E7 offers a minimalist cabin with a freestanding digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch infotainment display. High-quality materials, illuminated trim and dual wireless charging add to the premium feel.
The second row is designed for comfort, featuring a refrigerator and a roof-mounted 15.6-inch entertainment screen. The front seats can fold flat, allowing rear passengers to stretch out in a lounge-like seating area.
Plug-In Hybrid Powertrain

Power comes from a plug-in hybrid system pairing a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 97 hp with an electric motor generating 221 hp. Buick claims the system can deliver a total range of over 1,600 km and more than 210 km of pure electric driving.
The Electra E7 will also feature adaptive suspension and an advanced autonomous driving system designed to work on both highways and city roads.
